अनिवार्य चिन्हइन चिन्हों को अनदेखा करने के घातक परिणाम हो सकते हैं एवं इसे यातायात के नियमों का उल्लंघन माना जाएगा।

निषेधात्मक चिन्हजो चिन्ह कुछ करने से रोकते हैं या किसी प्रकार की सीमा तय करते हैं उन्हें निषेधात्मक सड़क चिन्ह कहा जाता है।

चेतावनीपूर्ण चिन्हयह चिन्ह सड़क उपयोगकर्ताओं को किसी बात या सड़क की स्थिति के बारे में चेतावनी देते हैं।

सूचनात्मक चिन्हयह चिन्ह सड़क के निकट उपलब्ध सुविधाओं, स्थलों के व दूरी इत्यादि की जानकारी प्रदान करते हैं।

Traffic Signs in Bharat can be classified into following categories.

Important Changes in Motor Vehicle Act

The use of mobile phones or other handheld devices is permitted but only for map navigation purposes. It should be used in such a way that does not affect/disturb driver concentration.

No need to carry Physical Documents like DL/RC/Insurance/PUC Certificate. Owners can store them on Digilocker or m-parivahan and produce them online when asked.

If document stored electronically on Digilocker or m-parivahan, the authorized officer shall not ask for physical documents including in the case of offense made by the driver where there is a necessity of document seizure.

In case of offense made by a driver where there is a necessity of document seizure, the authorized officers can seize documents electronically and issue acknowledging receipt.
