वृद्धि और विकास में क्या अंतर है? What is the difference between growth and development?

वृद्धि (Growth) :
👉‘वृद्धि’ और ‘विकास’ शब्द हमारे लिए नए नहीं हैं। 
👉वृद्धि और विकास दोनों ही समय की अवधि में होने वाले परिवर्तनों को संदर्भित करते हैं। 
👉अंतर यह है कि वृद्धि मात्रात्मक और मूल्य तटस्थ होती है। 
👉इसका सकारात्मक या नकारात्मक संकेत हो सकता है। इसका मतलब है कि परिवर्तन या तो सकारात्मक (वृद्धि दर्शाने वाला) या नकारात्मक (कमी दर्शाने वाला) हो सकता है।

विकास (Development) :
💥विकास का मतलब है गुणात्मक परिवर्तन जो हमेशा मूल्य सकारात्मक होता है। 
💥इसका मतलब है कि विकास तब तक नहीं हो सकता जब तक कि मौजूदा स्थितियों में वृद्धि या बढ़ौतरी न हो। 
💥विकास तब होता है जब सकारात्मक वृद्धि होती है। 
💥फिर भी, सकारात्मक वृद्धि हमेशा विकास की ओर नहीं ले जाती। विकास तब होता है जब गुणवत्ता में सकारात्मक बदलाव होता है।

उदाहरण के लिए, यदि किसी शहर की आबादी समय के साथ एक लाख से बढ़कर दो लाख हो जाती है, तो हम कहते हैं कि शहर का विकास हुआ है। लेकिन, यदि आवास, बुनियादी सेवाओं का प्रावधान और अन्य विशेषताएँ समान रहती हैं, तो इस वृद्धि के साथ विकास नहीं हुआ है।

Growth :
👉The words ‘growth’ and ‘development’ are not new to us. 
👉Both growth and development refer to changes over a period of time. 
👉The difference is that growth is quantitative and value neutral. 
👉It may have a positive or a negative sign. This means that the change may be either positive (showing an increase) or negative (indicating a decrease). 

Development :
💥Development means a qualitative change which is always value positive. 
💥This means that development cannot take place unless there is an increment or addition to the existing conditions. 
💥Development occurs when positive growth takes place. 
💥Yet, positive growth does not always lead to development. Development occurs when there is a positive change in quality. 

For example, if the population of a city grows from one lakh to two lakhs over a period of time, we say the city has grown. However, if facilities like housing, provision of basic services and other characteristics remain the same, then this growth has not been accompanied by development.
