वहीं 16,000 वर्ग किलोमीटर से भी ज्यादा में फैला रंगपुर डिवीजन बांग्लादेश का संपूर्ण उत्तरी भू-भाग है। बांग्लादेश की अर्थव्यस्था में इस इलाका का बहुत ही खास महत्त्व है। यह इलाका तंबाकू की खेती के लिए जाना जाता है और बड़ी-बड़ी तंबाकू कंपनियां यहां मौजूद हैं। इसके अलावा, यहां जूट, चावल और चीनी की मिलें भी हैं।
