वर्ल्ड पॉपुलेशन रिव्यू के ताजा अनुमान के अनुसार, साल 2026 में शंघाई (चीन) लगभग 2.47 करोड़ की आबादी के साथ दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा शहर है। इसके बाद दिल्ली (भारत) करीब 2.34 करोड़ लोगों के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है। तीसरे स्थान पर किन्शासा (डीआर कांगो)। चौथे पर मुंबई, पांचवें पर बीजिंग, छठे पर कराची, सातवें पर शेन्जेन, आठवें पर ग्वांगझोउ, नौवें पर कानो (नाइजीरिया) और दसवें स्थान पर चेंगदू (चीन) है। यह सूची दिखाती है कि एशिया और अफ्रीका के शहर सबसे तेज गति से आगे बढ़ रहे हैं।

Mumbai is fourth, Beijing fifth, Karachi sixth, Shenzhen seventh, Guangzhou eighth, Kano (Nigeria) ninth, and Chengdu (China) tenth. This list indicates that cities in Asia and Africa are growing the fastest.
Istanbul (Türkiye) holds the 11th spot on this list, while Bengaluru and Kolkata rank 12th and 13th, respectively.
