एक राजा थे। एक दिन वे जब वन-विहार को निकले। उन्हें रास्ते में प्यास लगी। उन्होंने आस - पास में नजर दौड़ाई तो एक अन्धे व्यक्ति की झोपड़ी दिखाई दी। राजा को जल से भरा घड़ा दूर से ही दिखाई दे रहा था।
राजा ने अपने एक सिपाही को झोपड़ी की ओर भेजा और एक लोटा जल माँग कर लाने के लिए कहा। सिपाही वहाँ पहुँचा और बोला - ऐ अन्धे, एक लोटा पानी दे दे। अन्धा अकड़ू था। उसने तुरन्त कहा - चल-चल तेरे जैसे सिपाहियों से मैं नहीं डरता। पानी तुझे नहीं दूँगा। सिपाही निराश लौट पड़ा।
इसके बाद राजा ने सेनापति को पानी लाने के लिए भेजा। सेनापति ने समीप जाकर कहा, अन्धे! पैसा मिलेगा, पानी दे। अन्धा फिर अकड़ पड़ा। उसने कहा, तुम पहले वाले व्यक्ति के सरदार मालूम पड़ते हो। फिर भी चुपड़ी बातें बना कर दबाव डाल रहे हो, जा-जा यहाँ से पानी नहीं मिलेगा।
सेनापति को भी खाली हाथ लौटता देखकर राजा स्वयं झोपड़ी की ओर चल पड़े। समीप पहुँचकर वृद्ध जन को सर्वप्रथम नमस्कार किया और कहा - ‘प्यास से गला सूख रहा है। एक लोटा जल दे सकें तो बड़ी कृपा होगी।’
अंधे ने सत्कारपूर्वक उन्हें पास बिठाया और कहा- ‘आप जैसे श्रेष्ठ जनों का राजा जैसा आदर है।
जल तो क्या मेरा शरीर भी स्वागत में हाजिर है। कोई और भी सेवा हो तो बतायें। राजा ने शीतल जल से अपनी प्यास बुझाई, फिर नम्र वाणी में पूछा -‘आपको तो दिखाई पड़ नहीं रहा है, फिर जल माँगने वालों को सिपाही, सरदार और राजा के रूप में कैसे पहचान पाये?’
अन्धे ने कहा- “वाणी के व्यवहार से, हर व्यक्ति के वास्तविक स्तर का पता चल जाता है।”
दोस्तो वाणी उस तीर की तरह हाेती हैं, जाे एक बार कमान (धनुष) से निकलने के बाद वापस नहीं आती। इसलिए जब भी कुछ बाेलाे बहुँत सोच-समझ कर बाेलाे, आपकी वाणी में ऐसा मिठास हाें कि सुनने वाला गदगद़ (खुश) हाे जायें।
ऐसी वाणी कभी ना बाेलाे, जिससे किसी काे दुःख पहुँचे।
Motivational Story - Behavior of speech
There was a king. One day when he went out for a picnic. He felt thirsty on the way. When he looked around, he saw a blind man's hut. The pitcher full of water was visible to the king from a distance.
The king sent one of his soldiers towards the hut and asked him to bring a glass of water. The soldier reached there and said - O blind man, give me a glass of water. The blind was stubborn. He immediately said - Come on, I am not afraid of soldiers like you. I will not give you water. The soldier returned disappointed.
After this the king sent the commander to bring water. The commander went near and said, blind! Will get money, give water. The blind man stiffened again. He said, you seem to be the leader of the previous person. Still, you are pressurizing by making slanderous statements, go ahead, you will not get water from here.
Seeing the commander also returning empty-handed, the king himself went towards the hut. After reaching near, he first greeted the old man and said - ' Throat is drying due to thirst. If you can give me a glass of water, it would be a great blessing.'
The blind man hospitably made him sit beside him and said-' Eminent people like you are respected like a king.
Not only water, my body is also present in the reception. Let me know if there is any other service. The king quenched his thirst with cool water, then asked in a humble voice - 'You are not able to see, then how could you recognize those asking for water as soldiers, chieftains and kings?'
The blind said- "The real level of every person is known by the behavior of speech."
Friends, speech is like an arrow, once it leaves the bow, it does not come back. That's why whenever you speak something thoughtfully, there should be such sweetness in your speech that the listener becomes happy.
Never speak such words, which can hurt someone.
