भारतीय मौसम विभाग (आईएमडी) देश में मौसम संबंधी विभिन्न अलर्ट जारी करता है। जिसके लिए चार अलग-अलग रंगों का इस्तेमाल करता है:-
1) ग्रीन अलर्ट – जिसका अर्थ होता है कि किसी कार्रवाई की जरूरत नहीं है।
2) येलो अलर्ट –इसका अर्थ होता है कि मौसमी परिस्थितियों पर नजर रखें और निगरानी करते रहें।
3) ऑरेंज अलर्ट –इसका अर्थ होता है कि किसी भी परिस्थिति के लिए तैयार रहें अर्थात ऑरेंज अलर्ट तैयार रहने के जारी किया जाता है।
4) रेड अलर्ट – इसका अर्थ होता है कि आवश्यक कार्रवाई या सहायता की जरूरत के लिए तैयार रहें।

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues various weather alerts in the country. For which four different colors are used: -
1) Green Alert – which means no action is required.
2) Yellow Alert – A ‘yellow alert’ means heavy rainfall between 6 to 11 cm. It means keeping an eye on the weather conditions and keep monitoring.
3) Orange Alert – It means to be prepared for any situation, ie Orange Alert is issued to be prepared.
4) Red Alert – Means to be prepared for necessary action or need for assistance.
