The population growth or population change refers to the change in number of inhabitants of a territory
during a specific period of time. This change may be positive as well as
negative. It can be expressed either in terms of absolute numbers or in
terms of percentage. Population
change in an area is an important indicator of economic development, social
upliftment and historical and cultural background of the region.
जनसंख्या वृद्धि या जनसंख्या परिवर्तन किसी
क्षेत्र में एक निश्चित समय अवधि के दौरान निवासियों की संख्या में होने वाले
परिवर्तन को कहते हैं। यह परिवर्तन सकारात्मक भी हो सकता है और नकारात्मक भी। इसे
या तो पूर्ण संख्या के रूप में या प्रतिशत के रूप में व्यक्त किया जा सकता है।
किसी क्षेत्र में जनसंख्या परिवर्तन आर्थिक विकास,
सामाजिक उत्थान और क्षेत्र की ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक पृष्ठभूमि का

Growth of Population: Change
of population in particular area between two points of time is known as growth
of population. For example, if we deduct the population
of India 2001 (102.70 crore) from population of 2011 (121.02 crore) then
we shall get the growth of population (18.15 crores) in actual numbers. जनसंख्या वृद्धि: दो समय बिंदुओं के बीच किसी विशेष
क्षेत्र में जनसंख्या में होने वाले परिवर्तन को जनसंख्या
वृद्धि कहते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, यदि हम भारत की 2001
की जनसंख्या (102.70 करोड़) को 2011 की जनसंख्या (121.02 करोड़) से घटा दें, तो हमें वास्तविक संख्या में जनसंख्या वृद्धि (18.15 करोड़) प्राप्त होगी।

Growth Rate of Population: This is the change of population expressed in percentage. जनसंख्या वृद्धि दर: यह प्रतिशत में व्यक्त जनसंख्या परिवर्तन है।
Natural Growth of Population: This is the population increased by difference between
births and deaths in a particular region between two points of time. जनसंख्या की प्राकृतिक वृद्धि: यह दो समय
बिंदुओं के बीच किसी विशेष क्षेत्र में जन्म और मृत्यु के बीच के अंतर से बढ़ी हुई
जनसंख्या है।
Natural Growth = Births – Deaths प्राकृतिक
वृद्धि = जन्म – मृत्यु
Actual Growth of Population: Births – Deaths + In Migration – Out Migration जन्म – मृत्यु + प्रवास – पलायन
Positive (+) Growth of Population: This happens when the birth
rate is more than the death rate between
two points of time or when people from other countries migrate permanently to a
region. जनसंख्या की सकारात्मक वृद्धि:
यह तब होता है जब दो समय बिंदुओं के बीच जन्म दर मृत्यु दर से अधिक होती है
या जब अन्य देशों के लोग किसी क्षेत्र में स्थायी रूप से प्रवास करते हैं।
