किसे कहते हैं ? भूगोल शब्द से आप क्या समझते हैं ? GEOGRAPHY शब्द का पहली बार
प्रयोग किसे विद्वान् ने किया था ?
Ans. भूगोल, शब्द दो शब्दों, भू + गोल अर्थात् पृथ्वी
गोल है, से
मिलकर बना है। गोलाकार पृथ्वी का अध्ययन करना भूगोल कहलाता है। भूगोल को अंग्रेजी
में Geography कहते हैं। Geography मूल रूप से ग्रीक भाषा का शब्द है , जो Geo
अर्थात् “पृथ्वी” तथा Graphiya अर्थात् “वर्णन करना” से मिलकर बना है अर्थात् पृथ्वी का वर्णन करना,Geography कहलाता है। GEOGRAPHY
शब्द का पहली बार प्रयोग ‘इरेटास्थानिज’
(Eratosthenes) नामक विद्वान् ने 276
ई.पू. किया था। “वह
विज्ञान या अध्ययन शास्त्र, जो पृथ्वी व इसके चारों ओर फैले भौतिक व मानवीय तत्वों
का अध्ययन करता है”।

is Geography? What do you understand by the term geography? Which scholar used
the word GEOGRAPHY for the first time?
Ans. The word geography is made up of two words,
Bhu + Gol, meaning the earth is round. The study of the spherical earth is
called geography. Bhugol is called Geography in English. Geography is basically
a Greek word, which is made up of Geo meaning "earth" and Graphiya
meaning "describing" i.e. describing the earth, it is called
Geography. The word GEOGRAPHY was first used by a scholar named
'Eratosthenes' in 276 BC. “The science or study science, which studies the
earth and the physical and human elements spread around it”.

की मुख्य शाखाएं कितनी हैं ? अथवा प्राकृतिक भूगोल OR भौतिक भूगोल किसे कहते हैं ? OR मानव
भूगोल किसे कहते हैं ? अथवा मानव भूगोल को परिभाषित कीजिए।

भूगोल की दो मुख्य शाखाएं हैं : 1.
प्राकृतिक भूगोल OR भौतिक भूगोल 2.
मानव भूगोल
1.भौतिक भूगोल:- यह भूगोल की वह शाखा, जो प्राकृतिक (Natural) तथ्यों
का भौगोलिक अध्ययन करती है, प्राकृतिक भूगोल OR भौतिक
भूगोल (PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY), कहलाती है। जैसे –
पृथ्वी, महाद्वीप, महासागर, पर्वत, पठार, मैदान आदि का अध्ययन करना।
2. मानव भूगोल:-
यह भूगोल की वह शाखा, जो मानवीय (Human) तथ्यों का भौगोलिक अध्ययन करती है, मानव
भूगोल (HUMAN GEOGRAPHY),
कहलाती है। जैसे – मानव बस्ती, कृषि, जनसंख्या, उद्योगों आदि का अध्ययन करना।
मानव भूगोल, भूगोल की प्रमुख शाखा हैं जिसके अन्तर्गत मानव की उत्पत्ति से लेकर वर्तमान समय तक उसके पर्यावरण के साथ सम्बन्धों का अध्ययन किया जाता हैं।- “मानव भूगोल, मानव समाजों और धरातल के बीच सम्बन्धों का संश्लेषित अध्ययन है।” - फ्रेडरिक रेटजेल
- “मानव भूगोल, अस्थिर पृथ्वी और क्रियाशील मानव के बीच परिवर्तनशील सम्बन्धों का अध्ययन है।” - कुमारी एलन चर्चिल सेम्पल (Ellen Churchill Semple)

of geography are there? What is called natural geography or physical geography? OR What is called human geography? OR Define human
geography.

There are two main branches of geography: 1. Natural Geography OR Physical Geography 2. Human
Geography
1.Physical
Geography:- This branch of geography, which deals with the
geographical study of natural facts, is called natural geography or physical
geography (PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY). For example, to study the earth,
continents, oceans, mountains, plateaus, plains etc.
2. Human Geography:- This branch of
geography, which deals with the geographical study of human facts, is called HUMAN
GEOGRAPHY. For example, to study human settlement, agriculture, population,
industries etc.
Human geography is the
main branch of geography, under which the relationship of man with his
environment is studied from the origin to the present time.

geography is the synthetic study of the relationship between human societies
and the land." - Frederick Ratzel
v "Human
geography is the study of the changing relationship between the unstable earth
and the working man." - Miss Ellen Churchill Semple
Q 3 मानव भूगोल की प्रकृति कैसी है ? मानव भूगोल की विषयवस्तु OR विषय क्षेत्र (Scope of Human Geography) बताइए।

मानव भूगोल, भौतिक पर्यावरण और मानव
– जनित सामाजिक – सांस्कृतिक पर्यावरण के अंत: सम्बन्धों का अध्ययन, उनकी
पारस्परिक अन्योन्यक्रिया (Interaction) के द्वारा करता है। भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों के अंतर्गत, मानव के उद्गम या क्रियाकलापों द्वारा निर्मित सांस्कृतिक दृश्यभूमि (Cultural
Landscape) का अध्ययन ही मानव भूगोल की विषय वस्तु या विषय
क्षेत्र है।
मानव
भूगोल का विषय क्षेत्र अत्यंत विस्तृत है। इसमें वे सभी पदार्थ, कार्य तथा विचार शामिल किये जाते हैं, जो प्रत्यक्ष
या अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से मनुष्य व उसके पर्यावरण से जुड़े हुए होते हैं। जैसे –
कृषि, उद्योग, व्यापार,
संचार, जनसंख्या व इसका संघटन, मानव अधिवास, भाषा, साहित्य
तथा राजनीतिक एवं प्रशासनिक इकाइयाँ आदि।
Q 3 What is the nature of
human geography? State the scope of Human Geography.
Ans.
Human geography studies the relationship between the physical environment and
the human-generated socio-cultural environment, through their interactions.
Under geographical conditions, the study of cultural landscape created by human
origin or activities is the subject matter or subject area of human
geography.
The
scope of human geography is very wide. It includes all those substances,
actions and thoughts, which are directly or indirectly related to man and his
environment. For example, agriculture, industry, trade, communication,
population and its composition, human settlement, language, literature and
political and administrative units etc.
Q 4 मानव भूगोल एक गत्यात्मक
विषय (Dynamic Subject) है, स्पष्ट कीजिए। OR प्रौद्योगिकी के मनुष्य व
भौतिक पर्यावरण की अन्योन्यक्रिया के दो लाभ क्या हैं ?
Ans. मानव
भूगोल एक गत्यात्मक अर्थात परिवर्तनशील विषय क्षेत्र है। इसमें समय, सभ्यता एवं संस्कृति के अनुसार परिवर्तन होता रहता है। जैसे – जैसे तकनीकी के विकास के साथ मनुष्य और पर्यावरण का सम्बन्ध बदलता है,
वैसे – वैसे मानव भूगोल की विषय वस्तु में
वृद्धि और विकास होता जाता है। जैसे – आधुनिक MOBILE और WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY के आने से संचार सम्बन्धी
अध्ययन क्षेत्र में नूतन परिवर्तन हुए हैं, तो नित – नई समस्याएं भी हमारे सामने आ रही हैं। प्रौद्योगिकी, मानव पर पर्यावरण की बंदिशे कम कर देती है।
Q 4 Human geography is a
dynamic subject, explain. OR What are the two benefits of the interaction of
man and the physical environment of technology?
Ans. Human geography is a
dynamic subject area. It keeps on changing according to the time, civilization
and culture. As the relationship between man and environment changes with the
development of technology, in the same way, the subject matter of human
geography increases and develops. For example, with the advent of modern mobile
and wireless technology, new changes have taken place in the field of
communication, so new problems are also coming in front of us. Technology
reduces the environmental constraints on human beings.
