देश की पहली Rapid रेल 'नमो भारत' का उद्घाटन गाजियाबाद के वसुंधरा सेक्टर-8 से 20 अक्टूबर 2023 को किया गया। यह ट्रेन 160 किलोमीटर की रफ्तार से दौड़ेगी. इसकी अधिकतम स्पीड 180 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे तक होगी। पहले फेज में दिल्ली-गाजियाबाद-मेरठ कॉरिडोर पर साहिबाबाद से दुहाई डिपो तक 17 किमी की यात्रा 12 मिनट में तय की जा सकेगी। इस कॉरिडोर की लंबाई 82 किमी है, जिसमें से 14 किमी का हिस्सा दिल्ली में और 68 किमी का हिस्सा उत्तर प्रदेश में है। राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र परिवहन निगम (एनसीआरटीसी) एनसीआर में इस क्षेत्रीय रैपिड ट्रांजिट सिस्टम (RRTS) का ऐसा नेटवर्क तैयार कर रहा है, जिसे दिल्ली मेट्रो की अलग-अलग लाइनों के साथ जोड़ा जाएगा। ये अलवर, पानीपत और मेरठ जैसे शहरों को भी दिल्ली से जोड़ेंगे।

The country's first Rapid Rail 'Namo Bharat' was inaugurated on 20 October 2023 from Vasundhara Sector-8 of Ghaziabad. This train will run at a speed of 160 kilometers. Its maximum speed will be up to 180 kilometers per hour. In the first phase, the 17 km journey from Sahibabad to Duhai depot on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor can be covered in 12 minutes. The length of this corridor is 82 km, out of which 14 km is in Delhi and 68 km is in Uttar Pradesh. National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is building a network of Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in NCR, which will be connected with different lines of Delhi Metro. It will also connect cities like Alwar, Panipat and Meerut to Delhi.
